Limelight Hydrangeas are in Bloom

When the Limelight Hydrangeas are in bloom it calls for a party.  They bloom late in the summer and are very large bushes.  They require very little maintenance and no watering.  In February I cut the limbs back and that is it.

I have decided on the menu, trying to make it colorful.  Ina's corn salad with the addition on drained black beans and vidalia onions instead of red onion.  Mixed fruit, and Tomato pie from Cook's Illustrated.  This is the Tomato Pie recipe location, http://www.seattletimes.com/life/food-drink/recipe-summer-tomato-pie/?utm_source=email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=article_left_1.1  and Corn Salad recipe, http://barefootcontessa.com/recipes.aspx?RecipeID=635&S=0  .   I hope that you are encouraged to invite a few friends and celebrate the end of summer with Limelights.
